The 16th week of WPS kicked off with two mid-week  game as the City of Brotherly Love Independence hosted the Windy City Red star while the round hosted the Washington Freedom. Amy Rodriguez continued to be on fire as she light-emitting diode Philly to a 3-0 win and the round discomfited the freedom 3-2. The weekend action started with the freedom traveling to Hub of the Universe as they hide to the surf 3-1. On Sunday, Windy City continued their road trip as they took sky Blue FC down 2-1. and the beat and FC gold Pride played to a scoreless draw.

In the 12th min of the Philly-Chicago match, Amy Rodriguez scored first for Philly. Lori Lindsey stole the ball in the midfield and played a through ball to Rodriguez who then shot far post to beat Jillian Loyden who was a bit out of position In the 26th minute, Nikki Krzysik started the counter attack that light-emitting diode to Philly’s second end She slid to kick a long base on balls up the field to find Rodriguez, who with her velocity beat two shielder and chipped the ball over Loyden and into the end In the 55th minute, Rodriguez also took part in the third end but this time she assisted information technology She curled a pass interior the box which Caroline Seger calmly volleyed past Loyden to secure the skunk win.

The beat turn on in capital of Georgia The freedom lost 3-2 on Midweek night as Monica Ocampo score the game-winning end for the beat in the final min of the game The capital of Georgia beat scored first in the 20th minute Aya Miyama played a long ball into space for Johanna Kund Johan Victor Rasmussen who chipped a perfect shot over Ashlyn Townsend Harris to the far side netting to make it 1-0. 20 min later, the freedom equalized. After Kia McNeil failed to clear a pass into the penalisation area, Abby Wambach pounced on it to keep the play alive. She played a low cross to Homare Sawa who played it across to Nikki Marshall. hope Solo got a hand on information technology but couldn’t deflect it away from end and it was 1-1. In the 44th minute, Tina Ellertson cause a penalty boot and earned a yellow card. hope Solo tipped Sonia Bomastor’s boot over the taproom In the 64th minute, the freedom took the  atomic number 82 when Wambach crossed the ball to an unmarked Sarah Huffman who finished off the play in the back station In the 67th minute, McCall Zzerboni played a ball over the freedom Backline to Ocampo who went 1v1 with Harris and buried her shot for the equaliser In the 88th minute, Miyama passed a through ball to Ocampo, who received the pass, cut around a defender, and blasted a shot to the roof off the net to win the game.

The Hub of the Universe Breakers, in pink, got on the board first as they defeated the Washington Freedom 3-1. In the 20th minute, Amy LePeilbet took a free kick which Jordan River River Angeli headed and was going wide. Emmett Kelly Smith came through at the last second to deflect to ball into end In the 56th minute, Cheney was fight for a ball that she ended up kicking off a defender’s leg and fell to Jordan River Angeli who capitalized to make it 2-1. Lene Mykjaland sent a cross to Abby Wambach who sen a header into end in the 67th minute. hexad minutes before play ended, Amy LePeilbet blasted a low shot on target, and the recoil was knocked into the end by Lauren Cheney.

The WPS game of the week was the one between first-placed FC gold Pride and the last-placed capital of Georgia beat and although fan watched a scoreless game on FSC, they had to be entertained throughout the full 90. Six minutes in, Aya Miyama played a ball to Eniola Aluko whose shot was saved by Nicole Barnhart. In the 25th min Kelley O’Hara took a shot on hope Solo who didn’t go the ball, but was saved by her best friend, the station In the 42nd minute, Kelley O’Hara had another clear chance, but hope Solo came up big saving her header at the last min and then pouncing on the recoil before Tiffany Milbrett got to IT In the 61st minute, ramona Bachmann laid off a pass to Lori Chalupny whose low shot was saved by Barnhart. Just  a few second later, Shannon Boxx headed down a pass and shot a half-volley to the end but hope Solo made a huge diving event save to deflect the ball away. The recoil was crossed interior the six-yard box and Milbrett got a foot on it, but her shot went off the crossbar In the 75th minute, James Whitcomb Riley could not run after pain her hip on a previously play, and let Ocampo take a shot that went just over the taproom James Whitcomb Riley was subbed out after that. In the 78th, Ocampo crossed the ball to Bachman whose shot went slowly rolling just wide of the far station In the 89th, Sinclair blasted a cross from Milbrett straight person off the crossbar.

Chicago took an early atomic number 82 on sky Blue FC on Sunday as Karenic Carney passed the ball to Ella Masar who chipped the ball over Jenni Branam, who was playing in her first WPS this year coming back from a broken kneepan The second end came way later in the 60th min as Marian Dalmy played a through ball to Caren Carney who scored her first goal this year. sky Blue was able to get a late end in stoppage time from Bretagne Taylor. Windy City walked away win the trey point after two disappointing game the previous week.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned this season is that you really can use “anything can happen” in WPS. The Bean Town Breakers got their first win since Week 1 against the City of Brotherly Love Independence after going down 1-0.  They came back to win 2-1.

FC gold Pride faced a greatly improved capital of Georgia Beat, but still managed to dominate them, to put it nicely. And The freedom and Windy City Red star ended their engagement in a scoreless draw.

The first game of the week was FC gold Pride at Atlanta Christine Sinclair, with the help of Marta, opened the marking in the first minute of the friction lucifer to put pridefulness on top and set a new record for fastest end in the league after blasting a shot past hope Solo. In the 30th min Marta, with her speed, round her guardian to a long walk from Emmett Kelly O’Hara. Marta faked the guardian and solo out with a postiche shot, pulled the ball back to herself and unleashed a shot to the crossbar and into the end Four minutes later, Kia McNeil was sent off the friction match after trying to kicking the ball into the end flying in the air, and kicking Barnhart instead, departure the round a man down for the residual of the game “I came out for the ball and I didn’t really see her coming” said Barnhart of the collision “But she did come in cleats up and got me pretty good.  It trauma when it happened but I’ll be ok.” In the 78th minute, Barnhart herself got an assist releasing a long punt, which Marta ran into, went one-on-one with Solo and beat her for her second end of the 24-hour interval In stop time Kelley O’Hara. from Fayetteville, GA, added her own end to make it 4-0. The Washington freedom and Windy City Red star played to a scoreless draw with plenty of chances. Erin McLeod, netkeeper for the Freedom, made 10 save to keep a shutout, while Jillian Loyden for the Red Stars made only 3. Windy City outshot the freedom 23-5. “Chicago played smart They played well and took vantage of our weariness and played the quick ball which worked against us,” said McLeod. who made ten save to earn her third skunk of the season “One thing we can take away was that we played hard the whole game We have had the disposition to give up the late end and we didn’t today I’m proud of the back line.” The first dangerous play, which came in the 18th minute, was a result of a walk from Cristiane to Ella Masar who shot the ball high from fifteen pace out for Windy City In the 35th minute, Allie Long fouled Megan Rapinoe, and Marian Dalmy took the free kicking for Chicago only to be punched over the taproom by McLeod. The chance were there for Chicago, but couldn’t get past McLeod, and the freedom were just a tired team with key participant having played trine game in a week, and were happy to have earned a point out of that friction match up.

Finally, the Bean Town Breakers were able to interruption a 9-game winless run since the first week of the season when they discomfited the freedom 2-1. On July 4th, the breakers defeated the City of Brotherly Love Independence twenty-one in a 2nd half rejoinder Amy Rodriguez scored the first goal of the night after receiving a walk fro Lianna Sanderson in the box, faking a defender out, and volleying a shot past Alyssa Naeher into the top left corner of the end in the 18th minute. A minute into the second half, Lauren Cheney equalized with her second end of the season, and her second since the season opener as well She received a cross and sent the ball over Karina LeBlanc, who was coming out to take the ball After about 40 minutes, Kristine Lilly came through for the Breakers, scoring the game-winner. Kelly Smith slotted a past to the right side of the penalization area, and Lilly sent the shot past an oncoming LeBlanc to give her squad the win Both team stay in the same muscae volitantes in the standings. Philly is now just quaternary point away from first place, while the breakers are in 6th place with 10 points, just quaternary ahead of the Beat.

“I tried to round my defender.  I brought the ball to my powerful left foot and all I could see was that infinite there.  I tried to hit it in that infinite and that was it,” she said on her goal.

In the 31st min Kristine Lilly played the ball to Allison Falk who had a shot on end which was saved, but Christine Sinclair was able to shoot the rebound for a XXX atomic number 82 However, in the 35th minute, Eniola Aluko cut the shortfall to II end after she got squad Abby on the board Calluna vulgaris O’Reilly served a perfective cross which Wambach headed on end Her heading was remarkably saved by Erin McLeod, but she left a rebound for Aluko to capitalize on. O’Reilly who played her part in two of Abby’s eleven end shared her idea on the game saying, “That was a good deal of merriment tonight – more tiring than you would think because it’s just all about attack.  It’s all about marking goals.  I’m not used to a 5-2 game.  But it was a good deal of merriment with the world class gift out on the field.  It’s an honor to play with those player in front of a great crowd here.  All in all, a great night.  I wish I could be on the winning end of it of course as a competitor, but this game is about the fan and about celebrating WPS.”

“When we come here as someone to create an all-star team…it’s going to be individual flair.  Marta’s obviously the best in the world at individual flair.  They were successful at acquiring in behind us early on.  It was just about acquiring everyone off the field without any injuries, gift the fan something to cheer about and having some merriment along the way.  Not too often do you get to play with some of these players.  It was merriment and exciting.  A good deal of the minor out there were just telling me how much merriment it was to see everybody on one field,” said Wambach on the game. ” A 3-0, I was acquiring a little frustrated.  I’m not going to lie.  As a rival and person who doesn’t like to lose – from the time I was five years old I would violent storm off in a fit because my blood brother would never let me win being the youngest of seven.  No body likes to lose, but this is an all-star game.  As long as everybody had a good time and we saw some great goals, some great individual talent and if everybody is healthy approach out of this game, that’s what’s important,” she added.

The mid-season All-Star game for Women’s Professional association football has been played, and now team go back to centering on the rest of the season starting with the capital of Georgia Beat hosting FC gold Pride, who have been in Atlanta the whole week to take part of the All-Star week festivities. The game kicks off Sabbatum night at septet ET.

The Beantown Breakers will look to get back to their winning days against a strong Philadelphia Independence team who are in sole possession of 2nd place, just one point behind FC gold Pride. This game is on Sun and kicking off at 4 postmortem ET at John A. James Thomas Farrell arena in West Chester University.

Women’s professional person soccer announced XIV militia for the 2010 WPS All-Star game presented by United States government Coast guard Reserve, which kick off at 8pm on June 30 at KSU soccer sports stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia The militia were selected by the WPS commissioner and two WPS All-Star game Head Coaches, Albertin Montoya and Alice Alice Paul Riley , based on wide-ranging standard including demand at various positions, 2010 performance, income tax return from harm or inaction, and other individual honor and attributes.

With a unique All-Star game format selected for 2010, each squad captain will choose their starting squad together with the All-Star game head coaches. Washington Freedom forward Abby Wambach will choose “Abby XI” as the home squad together with Philadelphia independency Head Coach Alice Paul Riley, while FC gold Pride star Marta will chose “Marta XI” as the away team with FC gold Pride Head coach Albertin Montoya at a unique vacation spot pick-em event for fan on Monday, June 28. Immediately following the starting picks, reserves will be placed on Abby XI and Marta XI to round out the All-Star squads.

FC gold Pride opened groundbreaker arena at CSU east bay with a win? against the Bean Town Breakers, which was the Breakers’ first loss on the route City of Brotherly Love defeated sky Blue FC in their own turf, and the capital of Georgia Beat got their first win of the season! They did IT They defeated the second worst squad in the conference right now, Windy City Red Stars, X at home What better place to get their first win?

I’ll start with the City of Brotherly Love Independence at sky Blue. Philly opened the grading in the 5th min of the match when Lori Lindsey played a through ball for Amy Rodriguez who then played it across to Danesha Samuel Sam Sam Adams to put the ball in the back of the cyberspace Adams, who was getting her first start, then returned the favor and assisted Rodriguez’ end in the 18th min to put Philly up 2-0. Samuel Sam Adams played the ball in behind the sky Blue defending team and Rodriguez shot it high and over backup goaltender Kristin Luckenbill. In the 26th minute Natasha Kai was taken down interior the penalisation box, and sky Blue were awarded a penalisation kick Rosana shot the ball to the roof of the net and the mark was 2-1. The scoring didn’t halt there as Philly scored another end ten minutes into the second half After Samuel Adams once again took a shot on end Luckenbill managed to get a hand on it, and Joanna Lohman knocked the rebound into the goal. In the 73rd minute, Lindsey continued to work as she played a ball over sky Blue’s defence Tina DiMartino took a shot from about twenty-five pace out and Luckenbill had no chance at it. Philly are in 2nd place with 17 points. while sky Blue FC base in 4th with 14.

FC gold Pride played at groundbreaker arena built at Cal State University east bay for the first time and gave the fan another win to be happy with. Kelley O’Hara scored her end in the 37th min after working a give-and-go with Christine Sinclair. Bean Town could not get on the board as they were twice denied by the crossbar The pridefulness stand strong in first place with 22 points, while the breakers base in 6th with 7 points.

Finally, the capital of Georgia Beat have a win under their belt from a Tina Ellertson goal in the 41st minute. This is what happened on Week 8 of WPS after . little rescheduling of games. FC gold Pride hosted the Washington Freedom . sky blueness FC took a little road trip down to Philly to face the independence , and the Athletica capital of Georgia Beat , now being called Atlantica , traveled to Windy City to take on the Red Stars .

FC gold Pride remain #1 in the standing after getting one point out of the next best squad in the conference on Saturday, June 5th. Allie Long got the Washington Freedom on the board first in the 38th min with a shot to the top corner of the end from 25 pace out Marta showed more of her thaumaturgy throughout the game and scored the equalizer for the pridefulness in the 75th min Christine Sinclair played the ball over the top of a freedom defender, Marta was able to touching it into infinite and out run the protector She attracted trey shielder toward her, got around them and blasted a shot past Erin McLeod.

The Philly independence discomfited sky blueness 2-1 on Sun on end from Amy Rodriguez and Lori Lindsey. The first goal came just trey minutes into the lucifer after Rodriguez laid off the ball for Lindsey, who shot a beautifully curved ball right into the top right corner of the end Laura Kalmari then equalized in the 11th min as she took a touching on a lofted ball from Rosana and tapped it past Val Henderson. Rodriguez later scored the game winner in the 28th min after jab a ball from Lianne Sanderson over Karen Bardsley.

The Windy City Red Stars, and capital of Georgia Beat put on a poor people display of “the best women’s association football in the world.” These two squad were at the undersurface of the standing and neither showed that they want to win in the stallion 90 proceedings I’ll give the round an alibi and say that they have quaternion new squad members in hope Solo, Lori Chalupny, Eniola Aluko, and Carolyn space from the St. Joseph Louis Barrow Athletica, and are trying to gel, but those quaternion participant are the only unity that showed any heart front he entire team Nothing great was created, and hope Solo was forced to make a few great save as she rescued her new squad from another loss Both squad walked away with one point They need a guest at their next training session to give them a motivational address They need some inspiration Luckily for the Beat, they have a pass week and won’t play a game at the end of this week That means they have II week of grooming ahead to regroup, figure out how to score, and focus on themselves before they take on the Red Stars again on June 19th.

Drama in Atlanta, Abby Wambach? doing her thing with a broken nose, Marta continuing to profligate through defenses, Windy City struggling to find the net, and a draw in St. Joe Louis are the main tale of Week 6 of Women’s professional person Soccer.

The first game took place on Friday in Bean Town as the surf faced FC gold Pride. Two of the world best forward faced off that night, and what an action-packed first half the fan witnessed. Marta struck first fro the pridefulness in the 15th minute Kelly Smith then equalized in the 22nd. Marta scored the game-winner in the 38th for a 5th straight person win a new WPS record The second half included a free boot off the foot of Kasey Moore, which was denied by the station The pridefulness still pedestal in 1st place 15 points.

The City of Brotherly Love Independence defeated the Windy City Red star 1-0 on a goal from Joanna Lohman in the 6th min of the friction lucifer who set a shot to the far station post past Jillian Loyden. Amy Rodriguez had scored a goal but was called for being in a very questionable offside position. Windy City had two significant chance that both went inch wide of the end The independency now pedestal in 2nd place 4 point behind FC gold Pride, and unity point ahead of the Washington Freedom and sky blueness FC.

St. Louis hosted sky blueness FC, and the squad played to a XXII draw After Eniola Aluko and Shannon Boxx paired for a goal, sky blueness FC took the Pb in a span of quintet minutes on two goal from Laura Kalmari. When Yael Averbuch tackled Elaine in the box, the referee awarded a punishment boot to the Atheltica. Boxx converted her shot into a goal, and both squad came out with one point sky blueness stands in 4th place with 10 points. just one spot ahead of St. Louis with 9 points.

Can anything stop Abby Wambach? Having played on Sunday with no mask to protect her nose, which needed surgery on Tues after breaking it last week against Boston, Abby not only assisted a goal, but scored a diving event heading With three guardian jab at her her, Abby kept ownership of the ball, and back-heeled a walk to Lene Mykjaland , who shot the ball to the left side past Brett Maron who was moving in the opposite word direction.  After Sonia Bompastor crossed the ball from the left side, Wambach came flight into the box and scored a perfective diving header to seal the win. Bompastor played most of the match with stitches in her forehead after colliding with McCall Zerboni in the opening minutes of the match. Zerboni was sent to a local infirmary According to the Beat, she has a goose egg, a black eye, and a concussion, but is doing amercement The freedom pedestal in 3rd place with 10 points. while the beat base in last place with only unity point.

Next week, the entire league will have a pass as the US Women’s National Team payoff on Federal Republic of Germany in Cleveland, Ohio on May 22nd. The friction match will be aired live on ESPN2 at 6pm ET.

WPS will income tax return to action on May 29 with the capital of Georgia beat at home once again taking on the St. Louis Athletica at 7pm ET while sky blueness FC take on the Bean Town Breakers in New Jersey. Windy City and FC gold Pride foursquare off at Toyota parkland at 8pm ET. and the WPS game of the week will be the Washington Freedom versus the Philadelphia Independence on Sunday, May 30 at 6pm ET on FSC.
