• Obama welcome UConn women’s squad to White House

    obama_uconn2President Barack Obama welcomed the University of Connecticut’s national champion women’s basketball game game team to the White House Monday, and it was a reunion for many of the participant and the Prez.

    The UConn women won their second heterosexual NCAA title earlier this year prompting the repetition invite to the White house It was the seventh statute title for the program The team, which just completed its second consecutive undefeated season, has not lost a game since Obama was elected president. Obama went so far as to telephone call them the best team in all of sport last year, “by far.”

    During their trip to the White House last year, Obama invited the team for an impromptu basketball game shooting competition on the White House basketball court, which the president South Korean won No word if a rematch was planned for this year.

    As he did at their last meeting,  Obama mentioned he is thrilled his two athletic daughter have function model like the UConn players.

    “So, as your president I commend you for scene that example,” he said. “As the begetter of two tall girls, who are also very cute and also do great work in the classroom, I’m just so sword lily that they’ve got all of you to look up to. And I thank you for it.”

    It has become customary for the posing President to sports meeting with the championship squad from most college and professional person sports. And to put their domination of college sport into perspective, the the UConn women have met with Presidents bill Clinton, Saint George W bush and Barack Obama.

    The husky will start next season with their 78-game winning streak intact and could very well find themselves with a another invitation to the White House next May.
